South Peace motorists are being warned to expect some heavy snowfall Wednesday afternoon and evening.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — South Peace motorists are being warned to expect some heavy snowfall Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the South Peace region, specifically along Highway 52 along Bearhole Lake Provincial Park.
According to the agency, a low-pressure system moving through the provincial interior will bring up to ten centimetres of snowfall to parts of the Peace region throughout the afternoon and evening on Wednesday, March 12th.

“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow,” the warning reads.
“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
The heavy snowfall is expected to ease by the morning of Thursday, March 13th.
Argo Road Maintenance, the company responsible for maintaining provincial roads in the South Peace, put out an announcement on Tuesday, March 11th, saying it was preparing for renewed snowfall and urging motorists to give plows and graders enough space to work safely.
