Police say an investigation at the scene revealed a southbound vehicle, which was fully stopped and attempting to make a left-hand turn, was rear-ended by a second vehicle.

The rear-ended vehicle was pushed over to the shoulder of the road, while the vehicle that hit it spun and blocked traffic on the highway.

Two other vehicles—one southbound and the other northbound—sustained damage when they swerved into the ditch on either side of the highway to avoid the collision.

Three people were reportedly transported to the hospital with “non-life threatening” injuries.

The highway was temporarily reduced to single-lane alternating traffic in the area while Dawson Road Maintenance workers cleaned up the road.

According to an update Dawson Road Maintenance pushed to social media at 10:40 a.m., the road is now open again.
