Reports that two people fell through the ice in a vehicle on the Pine River near Taylor last week have been confirmed.

TAYLOR, B.C. — Reports that two people fell through the ice in a vehicle on the Pine River near Taylor last week have been confirmed.
North Peace Search and Rescue (NPSAR) members helped the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at the scene on Friday, February 14th.

Both of the individuals were extracted from the ice, with help from the NPSAR Ice Rescue and Swiftwater Rescue teams.
Two BC ambulances were dispatched to the scene at roughly 6:25 p.m. and ended up taking both people to the hospital.
RCMP North District media relations officer Madonna Saunderson says despite the pair being taken away for medical treatment, “there appears to be nothing life threatening”.
She adds that the police investigation into the incident is still ongoing and that alcohol is believed to have been involved, but that there are no further details to share at this time.
