FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed down from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts from February 3rd to 7th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, February 3rd

Chauncey Narcisse Glen Brooks (born 1994):

Brooks was found guilty of one count of breaching a probation order and two counts of breach of a release order for incidents in Fort St. John that took place between February of 2023 and January of 2024.

Brooks was sentenced to jail time served and issued $1,437.50 in victim surcharges, which go towards supporting the victims of a crime. Brooks also received three 12-month probation orders.

Brenda Lee Lumsden (born 1969):

Lumsden was found guilty of refusal to comply with a demand for an incident in Fort St. John on April 27th, 2024. 

Lumsden was issued a 60-day conditional sentence, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called “house arrest”.

Lumsden was also issued a $2,500 fine, a $375 victim surcharge and a three-year driving prohibition.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, February 4th

Harlen Wayde Davis (born 1970):

Davis was issued a no-money recognizance after the allegation for a charge of causing fear of injury or damage to a person or property, issued for an incident in Dawson Creek on February 24th, 2024.

A no-money recognizance after the allegation means the accused was given conditions to follow.

William Henry Mazanek (born 1974):

Mazanek was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for a charge of possessing a firearm without a licence or registration, issued for an incident in Tomslake on April 2nd, 2024.

If Mazanek breaks the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay the $500.

Robert George Mills (born 2003):

Mills was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle without due care or attention for an incident in Dawson Creek on May 28th, 2023. Mills was issued a $750 fine, a $112 victim surcharge and a nine-month driving prohibition.

Jagwinder Singh (born 1996):

Singh was found guilty of two counts of driving a motor vehicle without due care or attention for an incident in Dawson Creek on December 15th, 2022. Singh was issued $1,500 in fines, $224 in victim surcharges and two six-month probation orders.

Brian Gordon John Stuckless (born 1986):

Stuckless was found guilty of theft over $5,000 for an incident in Dawson Creek on July 1st, 2019. Stuckless was issued a six-month conditional sentence, a nine-month probation order, and ordered to pay a total of $31,322.93 in restitution, which requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses the victim suffered because of the crime.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, February 5th

Matthew Alexander Summerell (born 1995):

Summerell was issued a $100 recognizance after the allegation for a charge of assault, issued for an incident in Fort St. John on May 1st, 2023. If Summerell breaks the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay the $100.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, February 7th

Timothy Samuel Johnathan Roth (born 1989):

Roth was found guilty of driving a motor vehicle without due care or attention for an incident in Dawson Creek on November 23rd, 2023. Roth was issued a $2,000 fine and a $300 victim surcharge.
