School bus routes cancellations amid cold snap

Bus routes in School District 60 and 59 – around Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Chetwynd – have been cancelled due to a cold snap on February 3rd, 2025.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Over half a dozen school bus routes in Fort St. John have been cancelled due to a cold snap on Monday morning. 

School District 60 (SD 60) buses for the following areas have been cancelled on February 3rd for the whole day: Altona, Buick, Clearview, Doig, Prespatou, Upper Pine and Wonowon. 

At the time of writing, bus routes are still running in the Alaska Highway area, Baldonnel, Charlie Lake, Blueberry, Grand Haven, Halfway, Hudson’s Hope, Montney, Taylor, Upper Cache and West Bypass North.

Other routes are yet to be determined. 

SD 60 Superintendent Stephen Petrucci is letting the public know that schools are still open.

All Dawson Creek and Chetwynd area school buses – in School District 59 – are also cancelled for today, Monday February 3rd.
