FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Details have been announced for the City of Fort St. John’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration.

According to the city’s website, the fireworks display is scheduled a few hours ahead of midnight at 8:00 p.m. December 31st, so that children and families don’t need to stay up late to ring in 2025.

The fireworks will be launched from the field northeast of the Fort St. John hospital.

The launch area will be closed to the public, but residents will be able to spectate the show from the nearby Surerus Park parking lot, Anne Roberts Young Elementary School, or a dedicated viewing area on 112th Avenue.

Residents are also being reminded not to take up parking spaces at Fort St. John Hospital, Peace Villa or the Birthing Centre, as those are reserved for “staff, patients and emergencies.”

Temporary no-parking zones will also be set up along parts of 112th Avenue, 86th Street, and 83rd Street during the event.
