Funds for the new equipment came from fundraising efforts like the Light a Moose radiothon and the Be an Angel Gala.
The foundation says its previous scanner is 11 years old and at the end of its lifespan.
“The old scanner was slow, requiring patients to spend more time on the imaging table, and it provided suboptimal image quality, potentially leading to missed or undiagnosed pathologies.”
The hospital foundation thanked residents for their contributions, saying they’re excited about the new machine and the positive impact they expect it to have on local healthcare.
