FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A Fort St. John couple has flown to Calgary over the weekend to help with Operation Christmas Child.
Sharon and John Fehr have been residents of Fort St. John for 33 years.
From December 12th to 13th, the couple flew to Operation Christmas Child’s Calgary Facility to inspect.

Before arriving, the Fehrs also packed 22 shoeboxes full of supplies for kids in need around the world.
This was Sharon Fehr’s fifth time and John’s second trip on behalf of the charity.
“I enjoy inspecting the shoeboxes, and I like volunteering, even if it’s not close to home,” Sharon explained.
The couple say they work with the charity because they enjoy bringing smiles to children’s faces when they receive the gifts.

“It’s probably a new beginning for many of them because their families probably can’t afford the things in the boxes. And these shoeboxes tell them that God has not forgotten them.”
City residents are reminded that it is not too late to help with Operation Christmas Child, and donations are still being accepted here.
