FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has approved an increase to the total contract value for a contract between the PRRD and the Charlie Lake Fire Department.

A contract between the PRRD and the Charlie Lake Fire Department for a fleet purchase of two trucks was amended at the December 6th board meeting.

The contract amendment increases the total contract value from $300,000 to $314,790, to allow for the delivery of trucks and Provincial Sales Tax.

Delivery was not previously a part of the contract, as staff previously planned to ‘facilitate the pickup of the new trucks while coordinating other responsibilities,’ when the trucks were expected to be completed in September 2024. Due to delays in the trucks’ completion, delivery has now been deemed necessary by staff.

Delivery costs are estimated to be $5,300, with an extra $5,000 for ‘weather-based disruptions,’ and after factoring in provincial sales tax the total project cost exceeds the previously budgeted amount of $300,000 by $4,119 before delivery costs.
