FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Environment Canada issued a freezing rain warning in the North and South Peace regions on Monday morning.
Affected areas include Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, and Fort Nelson.Â
From the morning to the afternoon on December 2nd, the weather will consist of flurries and ice pellets, periods of freezing rain, and possible utility outages.Â
Environment Canada expects the weather to cause icy and slippery surfaces, affecting drivers’ commutes.Â
“Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots will become icy, slippery and hazardous. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break,” according to Environment Canada.Â

The service advises motorists to adjust their driving due to changing road conditions.Â
By the late afternoon, the service expects the weather to be pushed eastward and out of the area.
