“We’re hoping,” said the elder Lehmann. “We should know sometime by the end of the month if she made the roster or not.”

“I’m unreasonably proud, but I’ve been so for years at this point.”

Lehmann began her hockey career with the Clearview Minor Hockey Association and played on mixed-gender teams until her mid-teens before the Clearview Colts girls’ program was formed.

She then played with Purcell Hockey Academy in Kimberly, B.C., and the Michigan-based Meijer AAA Academy, earning a 2.29 Goals Against Average in 60 appearances stateside.

After suiting up for the University of Carleton Ravens in USport, Alexandra travelled to Switzerland, where she has played in the Swiss Women’s ‘A’ League since 2020.

Highlights of her career overseas include spells at teams in Lugano and Bomo Thun, which was integrated into the club SC Bern in 2023.

Having dual citizenship via both of her parents’ Swiss births, Lehmann was able to play for the National Team, making seven appearances for Switzerland since 2022.

According to the release, the PWHL will conduct mini-camps in Montreal and Toronto from November 19th to 22nd, featuring scrimmages between training camp rosters.

The Charge will play the Boston Fleet on Thursday, November 21st, and the Montreal Victorie the following day at the Verdun Auditorium in Montreal.

PWHL teams must announce their final rosters by November 27th. The rosters will feature up to 23 guaranteed spots and three reserve players.

Further information about the PWHL is available at the league’s official website.
