Special snow warning issued for Fort Nelson

Environment Canada is warning Fort Nelson residents that the city is expected to experience its first substantial snowfall over the coming weekend.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — Environment Canada is warning Fort Nelson residents that the city is expected to experience its first substantial snowfall over the coming weekend. 

According to Environment Canada, steady snow will begin to fall on Friday night and continue until Sunday.

During that period, snowfall of 10 cm and possibly over 20 cm could be expected near the B.C. and Northwest Territories border.

Residents are also warned that the snowfall may make it difficult to see due to heavy snow and windy conditions.
