“As the storm moves inland today, a period of very strong westerly winds will develop in its wake.”

Environment Canada says hazards could include loose objects tossed by the winds, power outages, fallen tree branches, and cross-winds on highways affecting motorists in high-profile vehicles.

The agency’s hourly forecast says winds are expected to return to normal in Dawson Creek at roughly 10:00 p.m. Friday.
