Charlie Lake Fire Department acquires new Structure Protection Unit

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has purchased a new piece of equipment to support the Charlie Lake Fire Department.

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has purchased a new piece of equipment to support the Charlie Lake Fire Department.

The PRRD announced on Monday, September 16th, that the department had acquired a new “Structure Protection Unit.”

According to the announcement, the unit will allow firefighters to quickly protect homes and other buildings in the event of a fire and can also help in other areas if called on by the BC Wildfire Service.

“This mobile unit reflects our commitment to public safety and provincial rules,” says PRRD Chair Brad Sperling. “We take great pride in the CLFD as it plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and protection of our communities.”

The PRRD has thanked all its funding partners and staff members who helped make it possible to acquire the Structure Protection Unit.
