According to Ross Allard, a volunteer for Oktoberfest, the event was arranged in September so that the facility could be used before the ice was put in for the winter season.

Allard says it will be a fun event for adults to relax and enjoy themselves.

“I think this is going to be a really fun event for adults after a busy September to take some time and have some fun,” said Allard.

The event will have a variety of beverages being offered, including non-alcoholic options.

“We have arranged beer from various local breweries, in addition to Post and Row Eatery & Brewing Co. in Dawson Creek,” said Allard.

The Fort St. John Literacy Society will provide entertainment for the event, including activities and music.

“The event is a fundraiser to support the literacy society in their endeavor to fund their imagination library and in support of the curling club as well,” said Allard.

People are also encouraged to dress up in traditional German outfits like dirndl and lederhosen for a costume contest at the event.
