Davies, Bernier react to BC United pulling out of election, partnering with Conservatives
Peace River North MLA Dan Davies says Wednesday was “quite the day” in provincial politics.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Peace River North MLA Dan Davies says Wednesday was “quite the day” in provincial politics.
Davies refers to his party, the BC United Party, deciding to pull out of the upcoming provincial election.
Some BC United candidates are set to continue running for the Conservative Party in their ridings, but Jordan Kealy is set to remain the Conservative candidate in the Peace River North riding.
In a social media post, Davies says the details surrounding the BC United Party’s deal with the Conservatives are still emerging.
“What’s clear is that BC can’t afford four more years of David Eby’s NDP,” Davies says.
Davies went on to thank local voters for their support and for allowing him to represent the riding since being elected Peace River North MLA in 2017.
“It’s been the greatest honour of my life to represent northerners – to fight for Fort St. John, the North Peace, and the Northern Rockies, and ensure our voices are heard,” he said.

Per the BC Conservative Party website, the current candidate for the Peace River South riding is Larry Neufeld.
“There are a lot of moving parts on this and I can’t comment any further yet but as soon as I can share more I will,” Bernier said. “Thanks as always for everyone’s support.”
