Get ready for the 2024 Provincial General Election

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – With the 2024 B.C General Election now two months away, political parties and their candidates are beginning to travel across the province speaking to residents.

This is the first general election since the enactment of the modernized version of the Election Act. This means that B.C. residents will be able to vote in a variety of ways, ranging from mail to modern voting machines.

Individuals can vote in person anywhere across the province, either at voting places announced through Elections BC’s website or at any district electoral office.

Voting at district electoral offices will be open starting September 21st, and will run until 4 p.m. October 19th. 

Online and telephone voter registration closes at midnight on October 7th, and advance voting is set to open on October 10th. 

Voters intending to vote by mail have until October 13th to request a vote-by-mail package.

The final count is currently scheduled to be announced between October 26th and 28th. 

During the last provincial general election in 2020, Dan Davies was re-elected as MLA for Peace River North, and Mike Bernier was re-elected as MLA for Peace River South
