RCMP recover stolen Fort St. John truck in Fort Nelson

A vehicle stolen from a Fort St. John resident has reportedly been found in Fort Nelson.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — A vehicle stolen from a Fort St. John resident has reportedly been found in Fort Nelson.

According to RCMP North District Media Relations Officer Madonna Saunderson, the theft was first reported on Monday, August 5th.

“Through investigation, it was believed that the vehicle may be headed to Fort Nelson,” Saunderson explains.

“On August 6th, Northern Rockies RCMP located the truck near the community, and one adult man was arrested without incident.”

Saunderson says the man was later released on court compelling documents, for a future court date.

He isn’t currently facing any charges, but could be charged with possession of property obtained by crime, driving while prohibited, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Saunderson says the investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
