The first heat warning brought record-breaking daytime highs to the region for several days. The week of heat was followed by a brief cold front, which swept across the region over the weekend.

Temperatures are expected to remain high throughout the week, bringing a ‘moderate risk to public health’ for people in the region due to increased day and nighttime temperatures.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for the increase in temperatures by keeping their houses cool by turning on air conditioners and fans if possible and blocking the sun by closing curtains or blinds.
