FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed out from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek Provincial Courts from July 2nd to 5th.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 2nd:

Jonah Tristan Morven (born 1997):

Morven was found guilty of two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, one count of breaching a release order, one count of willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer, one count of robbery, and one count of breaking and entering and committing an indictable offense.

The charges were issued for incidents in Fort St. John and Prince George that took place between October 2022 and December 2023.

Morven was sentenced to one day in jail in addition to jail time served. They were also issued six 18-month probation orders, two mandatory firearm prohibitions, and ordered to report for DNA sample collection.

Robert James Neale (born 1987):

Neale was found guilty of one count of assault and two counts of breaching a release order, for incidents in Fort St. John between April and July of 2023. Neale was issued three conditional discharges, three one-year probation orders, and was made to pay three $100 victim surcharges, which go towards helping victims of a crime. A conditional discharge means the record won’t show a conviction if a person meets the conditions the judge sets.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, July 2nd:

Lynsey Marie Blanche Shendruk (born 1980):

Shendruk was issued a $500 recognizance after the allegation for one charge of being unlawfully in a dwelling-house, for an incident in Dawson Creek on September 16th, 2023. If Shendruk doesn’t meet the conditions laid out by the court, they’ll need to pay a $500 fine.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 3rd:

Ronald James Lamarsh (born 1997):

Lamarsh was found guilty of the lesser included charge of causing fear of damage or injury to a person or property for an incident in Fort St. John on July 13th, 2023. Lamarsh was issued a recognizance after the allegation, where the accused is given conditions to follow.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, July 5th:

Cody Michael Welygan (born 1992):

Welygan was found guilty of one count of breaching a release order for an incident in North Pine, B.C. on July 4th, 2024. Welygan was issued a conditional discharge, a one-year probation order and a $100 victim surcharge.

Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, July 5th:

Andrew Evan Hall (born 1981):

Hall was found guilty of one count of breaching a probation order and one count of breaching a release order, for incidents in Dawson Creek and Vernon, B.C. between November 2023 and April 2024. Hall was sentenced to 21 days in jail, in addition to jail time served.

Kendra Lee Morrow (born 1995):

Morrow was issued a recognizance after the allegation for one charge of uttering threats for an incident in Chetwynd on May 14th, 2023. Morrow was given conditions to follow by the court.
