Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark announces “Geoquest” 10th anniversary competition
The people responsible for maintaining the province’s only UNESCO Global Geopark are preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary next month.

TUMBLER RIDGE, B.C. — The people responsible for maintaining the province’s only UNESCO Global Geopark are preparing to celebrate its 10th anniversary next month.
The District of Tumbler Ridge and Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark announced on June 19th they’re partneting for an event called “Geoquest.”
According to the announcement, Geoquest is a competition for up to four adults, testing “physical skills, mental agility, and willingness to take risks,” styled after the Amazing Race TV show.
“GeoQuest is more than just a race,” said the park’s Executive Director, Manda Maggs. “It’s an opportunity for participants to experience themes of the Tumbler Ridge UNESCO Global Geopark while engaging in exciting challenges.”
“We’re thrilled to partner with the District of Tumbler Ridge to create an unforgettable event that celebrates our Geopark’s rich geological heritage while promoting exploration and teamwork in our community.”
The event is happening on July 27th. Registration costs $100 per team, including a barbecue after the competition. To learn more or register, call the Tumbler Ridge Visitor Centre at 250-242-3123.
