An adult man was arrested during the search, and two vehicles were seized.

One vehicle was used in trafficking the contraband, and one was believed to be the proceeds of crime. The adult male was released following the search, pending further investigation.

Subsequent investigation revealed youths would frequent the residence, leading RCMP to believe the illicit substances were being trafficked to the youth.

“This recent search warrant is a continuing effort from the Street Enforcement Team to suppress the trafficking of contraband in Fort St John. The presence of youth at the residence was concerning which made this a priority for the police,” Constable Connor Watson stated.

Police remind parents that items that contain cannabis can appear similar to regular candy packaging, despite Cannabis Regulations stipulating that packaging of such items is not allowed to be enticing to youth or children.

This incident is still under Fort St. John RCMP investigation, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
