The salon first applied for the structural change in May to offer an enhanced salon and spa for residents with more room to accommodate a higher occupant capacity.

Residents and businesses within a kilometre of the business were given until May 22nd to provide written comments, but the city received no feedback.

A report to council concluded that noise is not expected to be an issue as the facility is located in a commercial area removed from nearby residences.

“Council believes that the majority of residents support the application as it will offer an enhanced salon and spa for residents of the City of Fort St. John,” the report said.
