Dawson Creek council supports palliative care with May proclamation
The City of Dawson Creek has declared May Palliative Care Month.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The City of Dawson Creek has declared May Palliative Care Month.
Council declared the proclamation to raise awareness around end-of-life care in the city.
Fred Feddema and Kay Moody of the South Peace Hospice Palliative Care Society accepted the proclamation during the May 13th council meeting.
“It certainly is an important aspect of our community that we have a group like ours that services those who are most in need, and if we can serve them at home, that would be even better,” said Feddema.
According to the proclamation, the society is comprised of a large number of volunteers who provide direct and indirect hospice services to individuals in Dawson Creek.
According to its Facebook page, the South Peace Hospice Palliative Care Society is a not-for-profit in Dawson Creek dedicated to providing comfort and support.
During the council meeting, Mayor Darcy Dober thanked Feddema and Moody for the work they do.
