FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Below are the latest sentences handed out from the Fort St. John and Dawson Creek provincial courts from May 2nd to May 6th.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, May 2nd:
Marcus Richard Mearow (born 1997):
Mearow was found guilty of one count of breaching a probation order, for an incident in Fort Nelson in March of 2024. Mearow was sentenced to jail time served and a 12-month probation order.
Troy Lynn Romanow (born 1964):
Romanow was found guilty of one count of mischief $5,000 or under and four counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, for an incident in Fort St. John in January of 2024.
Romanow was issued a suspended sentence, where the accused is given conditions to follow. They were also issued a 12-month probation order, an order to report for DNA sample collection, and a 10-year mandatory firearm prohibition.

Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, May 3rd:
Amber Sullivan (born 1987):
Sullivan was found guilty of one count of assault for an incident in Fort St. John in January of 2024. Sullivan was issued a conditional discharge, which means the record won’t show a conviction if they meet the conditions the judge sets. They were also issued a six-month probation order.
Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, May 3rd:
David Lyle Wheeler (born 1965):
Wheeler was issued a recognizance after the allegation for one count of mischief under $5,000 in October of 2022. If they break the conditions laid out by the court, they must pay a $500 fine.
Fort St. John Provincial Court sentencing, May 6th:
Brent Jaxson Patrick Klamut (born 1999):
Klamut was found guilty of one count of sexual interference of a person under 16 for an incident in Fort St. John in November of 2020.
Klamut was issued a conditional sentence for two years less a day, which is a sentence to be served outside of jail under strict conditions, sometimes called “house arrest.”
They were also ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge, which goes towards helping victims of a crime, and were issued a 2-year probation order, a 10-year firearm prohibition, and were ordered to report for DNA sample collection.
Dawson Creek Provincial Court sentencing, May 6th:
Trevor James Leloup (born 1978):
Leloup was found guilty of one count of assault for an incident in Dawson Creek in February of 2023. They were issued a conditional discharge, a 12-month probation order, and a $100 victim surcharge.
