Boat ramp on Dinosaur Lake closed next week, district campground reservations available
The District of Hudson’s Hope is letting the public know that the boat ramp on Dinosaur Lake at the Peace Canyon Dam will be closed for construction next week.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — The District of Hudson’s Hope is letting the public know that the boat ramp on Dinosaur Lake at the Peace Canyon Dam will be closed for construction next week.
According to the district, construction is taking place to “help protect the dam and ensure the safety and enjoyment of Dinosaur Reservoir during the recreation season.”
The ramp will be unavailable from May 6th to 10th.

The district is asking boaters to follow safety signs and stay at least 250 metres from the jetty upstream of the dam.
“Thanks for your patience as we complete this important work,” the district said in a Facebook post.
The same day the district announced the closure of the boat ramp on Facebook, it created a second post informing the public that reservations opened for district campgrounds on May 1st at 9 a.m.
This comes after all construction phases at the Dinosaur Lake ATV campground were completed in August 2023.

“We are excited to announce that we have added new sites for reservation at the Dinosaur Lake ATV campground, as well as two picnic shelters available for booking,” the district said in a Facebook post on April 30th.
“Whether you are planning a reunion, milestone birthday, or wedding, consider our campground for your special event.”
The campground entered the construction phase in early 2022, and once the first two phases of the project were completed, half of the park opened for campers on July 16th, 2022.Â
The final two phases included the other half of the park, the installation of outhouses, picnic shelters, garbage and recycling bins, picnic tables, fire rings and signage.
