Employee dies of cardiac arrest at Fort St. John grocery store

Fort St. John RCMP officers say they were called to a local grocery store where an employee went into cardiac arrest on the weekend.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Fort St. John RCMP officers say they were called to a local grocery store where an employee went into cardiac arrest on the weekend.

Acting Staff Sergeant Scott Watson said the incident happened Saturday, April 27th, at the city’s Save On Foods.

“What happened is, an employee went into cardiac arrest and unfortunately passed away, so they closed [the store] for the day,” Watson says.

Witnesses of the incident reported seeing several ambulances and police cars at the scene.

Rumours circulated on social media that a dead body was discovered and reported to the RCMP.

Officer Watson wasn’t able to share any further details about the incident.
