UPDATE: One-hectare wildfire ‘being held’ near Hudson’s Hope

UPDATE: The wildfire is now “being held,” according to the BCWS.

HUDSON’S HOPE, B.C. — A wildfire approximately 35.5 kilometres away from Hudson’s Hope was discovered late Tuesday afternoon.

The one-hectare fire was discovered around 6 p.m. on April 23rd, southeast of Wapoose Lake.

The BC Wildfire Service says the fire is “being held,” meaning it is not likely to spread beyond predetermined boundaries under current conditions.

The suspected cause of the fire is humans or human activity, according to the BCWS.
