Four local minor hockey teams make their mark at provincials

Four Fort St. John minor hockey teams had a successful run at provincials over the past week, with each team bringing home a medal for their organization.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Four Fort St. John minor hockey teams had a successful run at provincials over the past week, with each team bringing home a medal for their organization.

The under-11 Fort St. John Flyers travelled to Richmond to compete in the U11 Tier 2 Spring Classic Tournament, where they were named division champions and earned gold medals after defeating the Yellowknife Wolfpack 3-2 in overtime.

The under-13 Fort St. John Flyers hosted the U13 Tier 2 BC Hockey Championships, earning gold after defeating the Hollyburn Country Club Huskies 5-3 in the championship final. The under-13 team earned the title of division champions for the 2023-2024 season.

The under-15 team came out of provincials with bronze medals. ( FSJ Minor Hockey, Facebook )

The under-15 North East BC Bantam Trackers travelled to North Vancouver to compete in the U15 Tier 1 BC Hockey Championships. There, they made their way to the bronze medal game, where they celebrated an 8-3 victory over the Strathcona Bears.

Finally, the under-18 North East BC Trackers headed to Nanaimo for the U18 Tier 1 BC Hockey Championships. The Trackers made it to the gold medal game, where they lost 6-2 to the Central Zone Rockets. The boys brought home silver medals for their hard work and effort in the final game.

Last Spring, Jordan completed her first season providing play-by-play for Trinity Western University Women’s Hockey and gameday hosting for BCHL Coquitlam Express.

Jordan enjoys radio anchoring, creating and editing video content, and hopes to one day pursue a career in investigative journalism as well as producing documentaries.
