Police seize drugs, gun, counterfeit money in Dawson Creek vehicle incident

Police in Dawson Creek seized drugs, a carbine and over $1,200 in counterfeit money from a vehicle earlier this month after the driver fled from police.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — Police in Dawson Creek seized drugs, a carbine and over $1,200 in counterfeit money from a vehicle earlier this month after the driver fled from police.

According to police, on January 16th, BC Highway Patrol attempted to stop a Chevrolet Malibu for speeding and stunting. The driver parked the vehicle in a driveway and ran from the police on foot.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days for stunting.

The RCMP obtained a search warrant for the Malibu and located a carbine with a loaded magazine, a hard body armour vest, drugs believed to be amphetamine, MDMA, and fentanyl and $1,260 in counterfeit money.

Anyone with information about the driver of the Malibu or events related to the incident is asked to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP at 250-784-3700.
