FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Beaton Airport Road is now open after a motor vehicle incident caused its closure on Tuesday morning.
According to DriveBC, the incident occurred somewhere along the road, between Highway 97 and Buick Creek Road, at approximately 9 a.m.
At 10 a.m., DriveBC announced the Beaton Airport Road had been cleared and reopened to traffic.
Argo Road Maintenance says Tuesday morning’s heavy rain and high winds in the south Peace have caused power outages, downed powerlines and fallen trees.
Argo says all main highways in the region are clear, but many side roads may be blocked, and some compact side roads will be slippery from rain.
“Our crews are out patrolling for debris and sanding side roads,” said Shelley Fulmes, quality assurance manager at Argo Road Maintenance.
“Please watch for the maintenance trucks and give them room to work.”
