- Victim’s Name Released: from the shooting that happened in Fort St John on January 8. The RCMP confirmed the driver of a white BMW, Norman Chase Smith, succumbed to his injuries.
- “Suspicious Occurrence” Confirmed as Attempted Murder: by the Fort St John RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit. The occurrence in question happened on December 12, 2023 at the Signature Point Apartments.
- Totem Mall Was Evacuated: on January 13. The cause was the sprinklers failing at Staples.
