FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Tickets to the Sunrise Rotary Club’s Evening Under the Stars – Western Edition went on sale on Monday afternoon.

Sunrise Rotary Club of Fort St. John co-chair Kim Van says this year’s event has a Western-themed dinner, dance with live music by Trainwreck and auction, as well as contests for best Rip and Beth lookalikes and biggest belt buckle.

Rip and Beth are characters in the popular Western drama show Yellowstone.

“It’ll be lots of fun, I think. It’ll draw more people just for something fun to do other than just your normal dinner and dance,” Van said.

Referring to the casual attire often worn by the cast of Yellowstone, Van says the theme was chosen because she felt it would be easy for attendees to dress for.

“A lot of times, it’s hard to get a date to dress up, right? I tried to find something that they would reluctantly be like, ‘okay,’ and who doesn’t own a pair of jeans?” Van said.

The co-chair says some of the funds raised will go toward seniors in Fort St. John.

The club is still in need of auction items for the event.

The Sunrise Rotary Club’s Evening Under the Stars – Western Edition event is happening on February 10th at the Pomeroy Hotel and Conference Centre.

Tickets are available for $125 each, or a table of eight for $1,000.
