North District Crime Unit takes over investigation into suspicious death in Dawson Creek

The North District Major Crime Unit has taken over an investigation into suspicious death in Dawson Creek and is looking for more information.

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. — The North District Major Crime Unit has taken over an investigation into a suspicious death in Dawson Creek and is looking for more information from the public.

The unit has also released new information regarding a truck spotted with the suspicious vehicle reported on December 31st, 2023, at 17th Street and 116th Avenue in Dawson Creek.

When the RCMP arrived, they located a red Dodge Calibre and a deceased male.

According to police, the Calibre was with a red Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with gold trim along the lower portion of the truck between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. the day it was discovered.

Police say the vehicles may have been seen in the area of 17th Street and 116th Avenue as well as on the Alaska Highway in the city.

The RCMP asks anyone with surveillance video, dash cam video or information regarding the trucks to contact the Dawson Creek RCMP detachment at 250-784-3700.
