City to offer series of free mental health workshops with Sabrina Trobak

The City of Fort St. John is offering a series of mental health workshops hosted by Sabrina Trobak, a local registered clinical counsellor.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The City of Fort St. John is offering a series of mental health workshops hosted by Sabrina Trobak, a local registered clinical counsellor. 

The workshops are free of cost for the community. 

The Understanding Healthy Relationships Workshop is scheduled for January 16th from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at the Pomeroy Sport Centre. This workshop will allow attendees to gain insight into relationships with family, friends, co-workers, and love interests.

The Creating Connection Workshop will also be held at the Pomeroy Sport Centre, scheduled for February 13th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Attendees at this workshop will be able to gain an understanding of how to create more connections in life and why most people avoid deeper connections. 

Community members will have the opportunity to choose the topic for the Community Choice Workshop, which will be held at the Kid’s Arena Fieldhouse on March 12th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

Community members interested in attending the workshop on March 12th are asked to keep an eye on the City of Fort St. John Recreation Facebook page for instructions on how to provide feedback for the workshop’s topic.

Recent graduate of BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism program, born and raised in Vancouver, Jordan’s passion for broadcast and journalism began with her dream of becoming a hockey journalist and play-by-play commentator.

During her schooling, Jordan discovered a deep passion for reporting on Indigenous issues, culture and affairs. Jordan is also passionate about connecting with and listening to stories from people from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds.

Last Spring, Jordan completed her first season providing play-by-play for Trinity Western University Women’s Hockey and gameday hosting for BCHL Coquitlam Express.

Jordan enjoys radio anchoring, creating and editing video content, and hopes to one day pursue a career in investigative journalism as well as producing documentaries.
