Fort Nelson Resident ordered to pay over $17K in restitution for defrauding PAC

A Fort Nelson resident who pled guilty to defrauding an elementary parent advisory council earlier this year must pay $17,387 in restitution.

FORT NELSON, B.C. — A Fort Nelson resident who pled guilty to defrauding an elementary parent advisory council earlier this year must pay $17,387 in restitution.

Bobby-Jo Arsenault was sentenced in a Fort Nelson courtroom on December 14th after pleading guilty to fraud on June 26th.

Bobby-Jo was also given a conditional sentence of 540 days and a one-year probation order.

A conditional sentence is a sentence to be served within the community, and restitution requires the offender to pay the victim for financial losses.

Bobby-Jo, along with Adam Melvin Arsenault, were jointly charged with defrauding a G.W. Carlson Elementary School PAC fund between August 1st, 2021 and April 15th, 2022.

They first appeared in court on March 27th, 2023.

Adam has not entered a plea, and his trial was stayed by the Crown on the same day as Bobby-Jo’s sentencing.

The relationship between the two is unknown.
