FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The CF18 Hornet is set to make its first appearance in Fort St. John since 2017 in place of the Snowbirds at the 2024 Air Show next summer.

“We’re so excited to host the Royal Canadian Air Force next summer, and beyond excited that they’re bringing the CF18,” said Sandi Miller, air show producer.

“This, along with the other incredible acts we have planned, will make for an exciting, family-friendly show.”

The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) supports as many Canadian air shows as possible, said Miller.

For instance, next year, which is also the RCAF’s 100th anniversary, the 2024 Fort St. John International Air Show will land on the same date as a military show in Manitoba. According to Miller, when two shows are on the same dates, the RCAF splits the Snowbirds and the CF18 Hornet between the two locations.

While the CF18 Hornet will be coming to Fort St. John, the Snowbirds will be performing in Manitoba.

“We’ll definitely miss hosting the Snowbirds next summer, but planning for the 2024 show is well underway, and we’re looking forward to hosting the Hornet along with some yet-to-be-announced acts — including some fan favourites,” Miller said.

The 2024 Fort St. John International Air Show will be held from August 3rd to 4th at the North Peace Regional Airport.
