FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — While publication may have ended for the Alaska Highway News, the City of Fort St. John recognized the newspaper’s 2023 People’s Choice Awards at their November 14th meeting.

Best Community Event went to High on Ice organizer Eryn Griffith, a winter festival held every year in the North Peace, Best City Councillor went to Trevor Bolin, while Best Civic Leader went to Mayor Lilia Hansen.

“This isn’t a fact, but I’m pretty sure you’re the only mayor who’s received this award,” said Bolin. “So, I think that’s above and beyond.”
