FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Fort St. John RCMP will be operational in its newly constructed detachment located at 10712 100th Street starting Thursday.

The move will disrupt the front counter service between noon and 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Non-emergency telephone support will be available by calling 250-787-8100, and emergencies can still be directed to 9-1-1.

The new detachment replaces the over 35-year-old previous detachment with a more net-zero building.

According to the city, compared to a traditional build, it is estimated the new building will consume over 80 per cent less energy, saving over $60,000 annually.

Details on the new detachment’s grand opening will be announced shortly.
