Behind the Scenes
Like a lot of you, now that we’re getting into June, our thoughts are filled with what we’re going to do this summer. When most people think of northern communities, they usually picture snow (which isn’t unfair) but there is actually a lot to do in the region during the warmer months. So much in fact, that it can be hard to keep track. That’s why we are starting a new newsletter!
For the summer of 2023, we will be publishing a weekly newsletter showcasing all of the things you can do in our corner of the province. We will be covering stuff like where to fish, camping spots, and more while also listing all of the events happening that weekend. We plan on dropping our first edition soon, so make sure to sign up now!
Top Stories of the Week
It’s always interesting to see what the readers of Energeticcity.ca are most interested in the region. Sometimes it’s a big decision impacting property taxes, and sometimes it’s a new restaurant coming to town. Here are the top stories for the week of May 28 to June 3, 2023:
- Canada Day Fireworks Cancelled: due to the open fire ban. However, the City is instead offering microgrants for local organizations to host their own celebrations.
- Three Men Arrested: in connection to a report of shots fired in the area of 104A Avenue and 112th Street on Tuesday morning.
- Help Identify Two Men: believed to be in possession of a handgun. On April 23rd, 2023, the Fort St. John RCMP received a report of a video containing footage of two men exchanging what appeared to be a handgun in the parking lot of the Lone Wolf Golf Club in Taylor.
