FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — Two North Peace students are returning home with some medals and scholarships from the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) in Edmonton.
Swas Ghosh, Sage Elliot, Maryam Khanum and Taha Ahmed travelled from the North Peace to compete in the science fair.
Despite not medalling at the science fair, Elliot, a grade 9 student from Freedom Thinkers Education, says she enjoyed the experience.
“I’d say overall, I’ve been having a lot of fun, and it’s a really unique experience that not a lot of people get to have. It’s just been really exciting,” Elliot said.
While in the city, the students visited the West Edmonton Mall, the University of Alberta and the Telus World of Science Museum.
At the award ceremony on Thursday, Ghosh and Khanum each took home medals and scholarships for their projects.
Ghosh, a grade 10 student at the Energetic Learning Campus, created a project called Green Pools of CO2: The Effect of CO2 on household plants.
