UPDATE: Over 6200 customers without power in Fort St. John area

BC Hydro is reporting that over 6200 customers in and outside of Fort St. John are without power.

UPDATE: According to BC Hydro, power should be back on for the Fort St. John customers by around 8 p.m.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC Hydro is reporting that over 6200 customers in and outside of Fort St. John are without power.

The first report of an outage in the area was at 3 p.m., with more outages being reported as of 5 p.m.

The outage is affecting part of Fort St. John, along with most of the North Peace region.

The cause of the outages is currently under investigation.
