Community members from northern B.C. and northern Alberta filled the bleachers at North Peace Secondary, Ma Murray and Bert Bowes, throughout the weekend to watch youth athletes compete.

“Our teams did good. Everybody competed very well.”

The tournament kicked off last weekend, and admission was $5.00 per day, $10.00 for a weekend pass, or a day pass by donating a non-perishable food item for the Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society.

“We raised lots of food donations for the Women’s Resource Society,” said Moskalyk. “We also donated $500.00 in gift cards to be used at grocery stores.”

Up next for the FSJ Flight Basketball League, the under-17 and under-15 boys’ teams will travel to Edmonton for a tournament in mid-May.
