BC Hydro holding Site C information sessions next month

BC Hydro is holding three Site C information sessions on reservoir filling early next month.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — BC Hydro is holding three Site C information sessions on reservoir filling early next month. 

Peace region residents interested in attending the sessions will have three options to choose from.

The first session will be held in Fort St. John on May 2nd, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre.

On May 3rd, a session will be held at the Hudson’s Hope Community Hall from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A virtual presentation will be held on May 9th via MS Teams from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

BC Hydro says these sessions will allow attendees to review the information and speak to the project team.

To RSVP, BC Hydro asks residents interested to email sitec@bchydro.com. 

According to BC Hydro, reservoir filling may occur as early as fall 2023 and will permanently change the Peace River. Over approximately four months, water levels will rise, widening the river by two to three times.
