Farm Credit Canada to give $20K to Charlie Lake Fire Department

CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. — The Charlie Lake Fire Department is set to receive $20,000 from Farm Credit Canada (FCC).

The Peace River Regional District will use the FCC AgriSprit funds to purchase a new fire hose for the Charlie Lake Fire Department.

The FCC is awarding $1.5 million to 85 community groups across Canada to support rural capital projects.

This year, the FFC AgriSpirit Fund contributed between $5,000 to $25,000 for community improvement projects in cities, towns or Indigenous communities with less than 150,000 people.

The next application period will open on April 1st, 2023, when registered charities, municipalities, First Nations and non-profit organizations interested in funding can visit the FCC AgriSpirit Fund website for eligibility requirements, apply online and view past projects.

Over the last 19 years, the fund has supported over 1,500 projects, investing $19.5 million into rural communities.
