FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Fort St. John resident Rishav Sharma is representing Canada at the 2022 Para Badminton International in Brazil.
Sharma is 1-1 in singles play after losing to Chirag Baretha from India 21-10, 21-7 Wednesday morning, and will not move on in the mixed doubles event after falling 0-2.
He is among eight players representing Canada in the tournament.
Sharma has been playing badminton since 2011 and moved to Fort St. John in September of 2016 to study business management at Northern Lights College.
Representing Fort St. John, Sharma won gold at the B.C. Provincial Para-Badminton Championships in 2017.
