Emergency intake of 21 dogs leaves South Peace SPCA looking for fosters and supplies
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The South Peace SPCA is in need of fosters and supplies following an accident that left one mom dog deceased and another dog poisoned with 21 puppies in need of help.
The surviving mom dog ‘Shadow’ is on medications but suffering from mastitis and possible pyometra infection, which means the 21 puppies need extra help.
The SPCA is requesting donations of puppy formula, canned puppy pate, Hills a/d Critical Care, puppy pads, flat sheets and baby scales.
Supplies can be left at the branch anytime before 4 p.m.
According to a social media post, they are looking for Fort St. John foster families that can commit to feeding multiple times per day, but no bottle feeding is required. They wish to foster them out in pairs of two only and also require a four-week commitment.
