VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health region added 44 cases on Wednesday, moving the active case count to 415.

There are 42 people in hospital, 15 of whom are in critical care.

There were five COVID-19 deaths recorded Wednesday, raising the regional total to 251.

Out of 17,293 cases since last spring, 16,598 have recovered.

The region added 731 vaccine doses since Tuesday, raising the total dose count to 403,813. Of those, 186,315 are second doses and 14,004 are other doses.

British Columbia added 322 cases on Wednesday, moving the active case count to 3,015.

There are 318 people in hospital, 109 of whom are in critical care.

Nine COVID-19 deaths were recorded on Wednesday, raising the B.C. total to 2,313.

Of the 216,334 cases since last March, 210,828 have since recovered.

B.C. added 19,338 vaccine doses since Tuesday, moving the total dose count to 8,587,520. Of those, 4,040,283 are second doses and 342,530 are other doses.

Northern Health announced a COVID-19 exposure notice has been sent to staff and students at North Peace Secondary School on Wednesday.

The exposure dates are between November 16th and 18th.

Anyone present at the school during those dates should self-monitor for symptoms for at least 14 days and stay home if they are feeling sick.
