COVID-19 outbreak declared at Peace Villa house

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at the Meadow House at Peace Villa.

The health authority says three residents and three staff have tested positive for COVID-19 at the time of the declaration.

Northern Health says it is closely monitoring for more cases, and the facility has enhanced outbreak control measures in place, including increased frequency of cleaning, enhanced symptom monitoring, and reduced movement of staff and patients in the facility.

Public health officials will continue to monitor the situation and will only declare an end to the outbreak when they are confident the chains of transmission have stopped.
