FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Site C employment dropped to 4,963 workers for September, down 124 workers from August.
Of these workers, 66 per cent, or 3,448, were from British Columbia, and 24 per cent, or 1,031, were from the Peace River Regional District.
Indigenous workers at Site C was down for September, with 390 workers after being at 393 for July and August.
Women workers dropped in September with 493, down 24 workers from 517 in August.
Apprentices at Site C dropped for September with 183; in August, there were 197 apprentices.
According to BC Hydro, companies with substantial global experience have been contracted for major project components. In September, there was one international worker in specialized positions for Site C and 40 management and professionals working for Site C through the federal International Mobility Program.
As of November 2nd, there were 1,508 workers in camp at Site C, with 43 workers in isolation and 14 active cases of COVID-19. Since January 1st, there have been 289 cases of COVID-19 at Site C.
